Chair Yoga for the Elderly

Aging doesn't have to mean deteriorating.
Yoga is a great way to keep fit well into old age. It reverses some of the physical problems that come with aging, including stiffness, high blood pressure, arthritis, and general aches and pains. Some yoga exercises can even help build better vision. Nowadays, more and more senior communities are incorporating yoga into their program.
But it's not easy for seniors to get up off the floor or balance on their own. So a system of yoga has been developed using chairs as props for sitting and holding on to. Chair Yoga has the same benefits as regular yoga: improves respiration, circulation and digestion, balances the nervous system, strengthens mental capacity, and gives a sense of emotional well-being.
