When you are badly injured, and it wasn't your fault, it can make the whole situation that much worse. Broken bones can take a long time to heal, and as we age, they can be the start of all kinds of problems. But imagine for a moment if your injuries are severe enough to put your career in jeopardy. Then what do you do?

Submitting an spinal injury compensation claim isn't something you should rush, neither should you unduly delay. What happens if you submit your claim before the full extent of your injuries are known? Waiting too long could also take you past deadlines in place for submitting claims.

From the moment you are injured, keep notes of everything that happened and everything you do. Get yourself a notebook and record names of people you speak to, why you spoke to them, the organization they belong to, and their contact information. At some point this information may be needed for legal requirements and it's better to have it documented than trying to recreate it.

Also, get advice as soon as you can – even if you think you can maneuver your way through the system yourself, make sure to confirm the process so you don't make matters worse for yourself in the future by missing important steps in the process.
