Continuing Education Information


Defined Care 2002 Web Summit attendees are eligible to apply for the following ten categories of continuing education. There is an additional $10.00 charge per category of continuing education that will apply, plus a $3.00 processing fee regardless of the number of categories applied for. 

Interested parties must first be registered as attendees, log onto the Defined Care Web Summit site after the summit opens, and select "Continuing Edu"  from the main summit menu, to register and make payment for continuing education, and receive additional instructions regarding processing procedures. The process involves completing and submitting both an Application for Continuing Education Credit Form and the Summit Evaluation Form.

Defined Care 2002 Web Summit continuing education is provided in partnership with Medical Education Collaborative, A Nonprofit Medical Education Company. 

ACCME-This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of Medical Education Collaborative and Healthcare Conference Administrators, LLC. Medical Education Collaborative (MEC), a nonprofit education organization, is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

ACHE - Medical Education Collaborative is authorized to award 17.0 hours of pre-approved Category II (non-ACHE) continuing education credit for this program toward advancement or re-certification in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Participants in this program wishing to have the continuing education hours applied toward Category II credit should list their attendance when applying for advancement or re-certification in ACHE.

ACPE - This activity has also been planned and implemented in accordance with the Quality Criteria of the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) through the cosponsorship of Medical Education Collaborative, Inc. and Health Care Conference Administrators. 

Medical Education Collaborative, Inc. is approved by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmaceutical education. 

Medical Education Collaborative, Inc. has assigned 17.0 contact hours (1.7 CEUs) of continuing pharmaceutical education credit. ACPE provider numbers: Defined Care Trends and Issues: 815-999-02-121-C04 (8.0 contact hours, 0.8 CEUs) ; Technical Considerations for Defined Care: 815-999-02-122-C04 (3.0 contact hours, 0.3 CEUs); Defined Care Case Studies: 815-999-02-123-C04 (6.0 contact hours, 0.6 CEUs). Certificate is defined as a record of participation.

AHIMA - This program is pending approval for 17.0 CE credits for use in fulfilling the continuing education requirements of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

ANCC (Nursing Credit) - Approved for 20.4 contact hours of continuing education for RNs, LPNs, LVNs, and NPs. This program is cosponsored with Medical Education Collaborative, Inc. (MCE). MEC is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation . Provider approved by the California BRN provider number: CEP-12990 for 20.4 contact hours.

AAPC - This program is pending prior approval from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) for 17.0 CE credits.

HCCB This program is pending approval for HCCB continuing education credits for compliance certification for 17.5 CE credits (based on a 50 minute hour).

NAMSS - This program is pending approval by the National Association of Medical Staff Services for 17.0 CE credits.

NASBA - Registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. A maximum of 20.4 credits based on a 50-minute hour will be granted. Recommended experience level for this course is intermediate to advanced.

PAHCOM This program is pending approval by the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management for 17.0 CE credits.
